Have Civilizations Ever Really Changed?

Have civilizations ever really changed? No... They all keep drifting back to one idea...the tower. The whole world seems fixated on towers now. Spanning from Dubai to New York. Mumbai to Japan. Each one taller than the last and each one reflecting one word in my mind...Babel.

How much have we really changed from that ancient story? We’re certainly not forced to build monuments by some legendary warrior king shaking his fist at us and God.

No...we’ve taken that mantle upon ourselves.

Trouble is, our natural environment still comes into deadly conflict with our technology and schemes.

As the earth shakes and oceans rise, nothing manmade is safe. No matter how advanced we think we are.

Of course, our industrious legacy to conquer everything down to the power of the atom has seldom included the same dedication to understanding the human heart.

Its virtual realities make its dimensions boundless...and a place where, once again, we all have “one language and a common speech.”

Science seems to be building this structure above and around the entire planet.

“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” - Albert Einstein
